As far as I have been able to tell, there exists no walkthrough for it. When I first started playing it, there was no hint guide, tips list, or any other sort of help online, either in English or Japanese. So, here we go. I hope it helps those of you who were as befuddled by this game as me. For reference, I'm playing the first edition release of Tag Tamers, which came with a nifty Moon-Millenniumon card. My Wonderswan Color is the silver Limited Version model made in 2000. This walkthrough will be written with the Japanese names of the digimon in mind, not the English dub names, because I am more familiar with the Japanese names. This walkthrough will focus more on gameplay than the actual story, since translations of key events and some dialogue in the story can be found in the WS Gaming Diaries at: http://syldra.net/yesterday ====================================================================== =Updates (LOG)= ====================================================================== May 5th, 2005 - To date, there still exists no good Tag Tamers walkthrough. I hope to change this. ====================================================================== =Legalities (LGL)= ====================================================================== This particular Walkthrough for Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers is by Ajora Fravashi. GameFaqs.com and syldra.net are the sites where this Walkthrough can be found. If you'd like to distribute, feel free, but please let me know whether or not it will turn up on a site other than the ones stated above. And please leave it intact. The actual game Tag Tamers is ©Bandai Co., Ltd. 2000, as well as by Akiyoshi Hongo and Toei Animation. ====================================================================== =Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)= ====================================================================== These are questions I've either been asked personally or found on a forum or two. Q1 - What's that X icon on my digimon? A1 - It means that your digimon is going to devolve soon. For example, I have a Holydramon with 94 Jogress points and 32 YP with a X icon. Surely the moment I step into some high level dungeon, she's going to devolve and get herself knocked out. A Child-level digimon like Wormmon will max out at 15 YP before they devolve. Oh, and as for that star you see on Wormmon and V-mon? That means they cannot evolve further. My Holydramon has the same little star. Q2 - What about those other funny icons? A2 - Poisoned status is represented by a skull and crossbones. Cursed status is represented by a little swirly ghost flame. Paralysis is represented by a lightning bolt. These can be cleared away by PoisChips, CurseChips, SlipChips, MetallicChips, and HiMetallicChips. Q2 - Wormmon and V-mon won't evolve or Jogress! What am I doing wrong? A2 - Nothing at all. They are incapable of Jogressing to anyone else, going anywhere past Child level, or being stuffed in Reload Machines until the end of the story part of the game. You'll be able to Jogress them after the story part ends. Q3 - What are the D-3 and D-Terminal for? How do I use them? A3 - The D-3 is for capturing digimon during battles. Certain digimon require a certain number of points on the D-3 to be caught. A child that isn't a main character on the TV shows will take around 40 points to catch, but if you want a mugendramon you need 650 points. Points can be added to the D-3 by fighting in battle. Also, that nifty little D-terminal is your best friend and comes with two options: digimon dictionary and dungeon maps. Entries are added to the dictionary by capturing or raising digimon, and dungeon maps can be added after you clear a dungeon and can buy an Installer from the Nanimon shop. Q4 - Why won't my digimon evolve? A4 - Jogress is the secret middle name of this game here, and different ranks of digimon require a different amount of Jogress points to reach a certain level. A rank 4 digimon like Seraphimon will take 12 Jogress points to reach Perfect and 72 to reach Ultimate, but a rank 9 digimon (Moon-Millenniumon) requires 48 points for Perfect and 288 for Ultimate. You do not try for the Millenniumon line unless you're a masochist. ====================================================================== =Battle Menu Translation (BMT)= ====================================================================== 1) Outside of battle: Joutai (condition): When you selected Joutai, you select the digimon whose stats you want to check on and you can then check on status, experience, jogress points, and what skills the digimon has. Jinkei: Allows you to arrange battle placement. Any digimon that's weak or prone to dying a lot can be placed in the back row, while the stronger digimon can remain in the front row and take the hits. Back row is a good place for Wormmon once you have a bunch of adults or higher level digimon. Item: Calls up the Items list. Selecting the D-Terminal will allow you to look at either the Zukan (dictionary) or dungeon maps. Save: Self-explanatory Armor: Brings up the digimental list. - Watasu: Equips a digimon with a digimental. If the digimon already has a digimental, the game will ask if you want to replace it. - Azukaru: Unequips a digimon with a digimental. Yameru (End) 2) In battle: Tatakau (Fight): Allows you to select a skill to attack with. Item: Allows you to use an item in battle. Joutai (condition): See above. AI: Artificial Intelligence. There are four settings - Command: Basically exits AI and lets you fight on your own. - Power Attack: Attack with the strongest skill - Point Attack: Attack with the most effective skill - Defending: Block attacks Mamoru (protect): Digimon are on the defensive Nigeru (escape) ====================================================================== =System (SYS)= ====================================================================== The system is perplexing, confusing, and has had many people scratching their heads over it. Here's hoping this will clear things up. ______________________________________________________________________ A - Jogress Evolution: Egg ranking Ultimately, it doesn't matter what you throw in the mix so long as you have plenty of jogresses, and enough Jogress Points to make it to the level you want for the digimon you want. Want Moon-Millenniumon? Tough luck, you need 288 jogress points AND 8000+ exp. This is a list on how certain eggs rank. The Digitama List can be found at (JGE). Rank 1: Eggs 38-40 Rank 2: Eggs 1-6, 41-46 Rank 3: Eggs 8-13, 47-58 Rank 4: Eggs 21-23, 59-64 Rank 5: Eggs 14-19, 27-31, 65-70 Rank 6: Eggs 25, 32, 34 Rank 7: Eggs 7, 26, 35 Rank 8: Eggs 24, 33, 36 Rank 9: Egg 37 ______________________________________________________________________ B - Jogress Evolution: Experience Chart Experience dictates how long it takes to level a digimon up to a certain point, and the bar goes higher with the digimon's rank. Rank | Baby2 | Child | Adult | Perfect | Ultimate ¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 1 | 100 | 500 | 1000 | 2000 | 4000 2 | 110 | 550 | 1100 | 2200 | 4400 3 | 115 | 575 | 1150 | 2300 | 4600 4 | 120 | 600 | 1200 | 2400 | 4800 5 | 125 | 625 | 1250 | 2500 | 5000 6 | 140 | 700 | 1400 | 2800 | 5600 7 | 160 | 800 | 1600 | 3200 | 6400 8 | 180 | 900 | 1800 | 3600 | 7200 9 | 200 | 1000 | 2000 | 4000 | 8000 ______________________________________________________________________ C - Jogress Evolution: Jogress Point Chart A certain number of Jogress points are required for a digimon to level up. This chart gives the bare minimum of what each rank requires. Rank | Adult | Perfect | Ultimate ¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 1 | 2 | 8 | 48 2 | 2 | 8 | 52 3 | 2 | 9 | 57 4 | 3 | 12 | 72 5 | 3 | 14 | 86 6 | 4 | 17 | 105 7 | 6 | 24 | 144 8 | 9 | 36 | 216 9 | 12 | 48 | 288 ______________________________________________________________________ D - Jogress Evolution: Parameter Chart Why do you want a high-ranking digimon? You can catch them in dungeons, right? But there is a benefit to Jogress evolution: Rank | HP | DP | AP | PP ¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯ 1 | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% 2 | 120% | 110% | 0% | 0% 3 | 140% | 120% | 110% | 0% 4 | 160% | 130% | 120% | 105% 5 | 180% | 140% | 130% | 110% 6 | 200% | 150% | 140% | 115% 7 | 220% | 160% | 150% | 120% 8 | 240% | 170% | 160% | 125% 9 | 300% | 180% | 170% | 130% ______________________________________________________________________ D - Parameters For some reason, there are only a few easily visible stats. They are as follows: A: Attack - The amount of attack power your digimon has. S: Speed - How much speed the digimon has. The lower level they are, the faster they are. Moon-Millenniumon, for example, has a Speed of 2% while Punimon has a Speed of 20%. P: Protect - Protect points. The higher this number is, the more damage they can take. Y: Youth? - This represents a digimon's "life span." When it hits a certain number, the digimon is in danger of devolving. This varies with the digimon's level and max experience. You can usually tell when they'll devolve by a X that appear next to their picture in the status screen. ====================================================================== =Shop & Colosseum Menu Translations (SMT)= ====================================================================== 1) At the Reload Machine: Reload: Switch characters Azukeru: Allows you to put items or digimon in the Reload Machine for the other character to pick up. Hikidasu: Allows you to remove items or digimon from the Reload Machine. Joutai: Digimon status Mamoru (protect): Digimon are on the defensive Soto e deru: Allows you to leave Gennai's/Piccolomon's house. 2) Nanomon Server Room - Pick up or return digimon captured in battle. Digimon o morau: Pick up a digimon. You need an empty slot to do so. Digimon o kaesu: Return a digimon. Soto e deru: Go outside 3) Centaurmon Digimental Room - Rebuild digimentals from sherds picked up in dungeons. This game is an archaeological dig. Seriously. Armor tsukuru: Rebuilds a digimental. Different digimentals are harder to rebuild than others, thus cost more to rebuild. Soto e deru: Go outside 4) Deramon Cloak Room - Where you stuff extra digimon. Azukeru: Turn over custody Uketoru: Resume custody Soto e deru: Go outside. 5) Nanimon Shop - Where to buy items. Item o kau: Buy Item. Note: once you clear a dungeon, you can buy Installers. These install dungeon maps on the D-Terminal. Item o uru: Sell item. You cannot sell the D-3 or D-Terminal. Soto e deru: Go outside. 6) Digitamamon Jogress Room Jogress: Jogresses two digimon together to form an egg, which then hatches to (potentially) form a new digimon. The digimon grows up learning the skills of its Jogress parents. Note: Baby level digimon cannot be jogressed. They must be Child-level or above. Kantei: Breaks apart a Jogress. Soto e deru: Go outside. 7) Clockmon Build Shop Memory Up: Allows you to expand the options/storage space available at other shops. - Shop - Jogress - Cloak Soto e deru: Go outside. 7) Penmon's Trading House - Only useful for those who can hook up with other people with wonderswans. Useless for emulator users. Tsuushin - Trade: Exchange a digimon with someone. - Kasu: Lend someone a digimon. - Yameru: End Kaesu: Return a digimon Soto e deru: Go outside. 8) Floramon Versus Colosseum - Found at the Big Tree from the Anode Tamer area, where you first start out with Ryo. Useless for anyone without a link cable and a second Wonderswan. 9) Leomon Portable Colosseum - Another useless thing for anyone without a link device to the old Digimon Portable systems. Found where you start out with Ken. Battle Cancel 10) Meramon D-3 Colosseum - Found at the first pyramid in the Sea Continent on Ken's side, also useless to anyone without a link cable and D-3. Battle Digimon Trade Armor Trade Cancel 11) Otamamon/Gekomon shop - Second building to the left on the Machine continent. Requires Gold Bit to purchase anything. Item o kau Item o uru Soto e deru ====================================================================== =The Story (NS)= ====================================================================== At the end of New Year's Eve of 1999, two chimera-type digimon fused together to survive. The resulting digimon, Millenniumon, then generated a time slip that resurrected many of the evil digimon deleted in the summer of 1999 and captured the Chosen Children. In a last-ditch effort to rescue the Chosen Children and defeat Millenniumon, a young boy with no digivice or digimon partner of his own was summoned into the Digital World. With the aid of Agumon and the other Chosen Childrens' digimon, he defeated Millenniumon and released the Chosen. He was then sent back. Several months later, the game begins anew as he and his friend, Ken, watch the Omegamon vs. Diablomon battle of the Bokura no War Game movie. Once Diablomon is defeated, however, Ryo and Ken are called to the Digital World to take out a Diablomon clone. It soon proves to be a trap laid by Millenniumon to lure Ryo back into the Digital World, then the world splits in two and Ryo and Ken must tag team to defeat Millenniumon on both halves of the world. ====================================================================== =Walkthrough (WT)= ====================================================================== First, I'm running on the assumption that people reading this are more interested in the gameplay than the actual story. With that out of the way, I'm going to hold your hand for the majority of the game and make sure you don't do something silly. Like with all the Ryo games, you start out by inputting a name for the main character. Ryo is the default name. Then comes a flashback to Anode Tamer before switching to present day. After Ryo and Ken witness the events from the "Bokura no War Game" movie, Ryo is called into the Digital World to take care of one last remaining Diablomon clone and Ken tags along. So, Ryo and V-mon must venture to the mountain on File Island and take out the Diablomon clone. For those who have played Anode Tamer, the layout of File Island is exactly the same. To get to File Island, you must go north from Gennai's and keep going north. There's a span of land here with two circles, one of which is an active teleport pad. Hop on it and it's off to File Island. Once there, those of you who had played Anode Tamer will find that File Island has since been destroyed and everything is in ruins. Just keep going north until you run into the old Devimon mountain from the last game. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 1, Ryo side: Destruction Cave (Hakai no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Conversation, Item, Random | |Treasure: Item loft - HiFloppy, Tenacity Digimental piece; | | Random loft - Max Floppy, FloppyAll | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|C|---|B|---|R|---|X| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | | *Note: For future reference, B = Battle loft, C = Conversation, | | I = Item, R = Random, A = Attack, F = Forked Path, | | K = Recovery/Heal, D = Digimental Shop, X = Boss Battle | | *Note 2: Random lofts can technically be anything from this pool:| | Item shop, Digimental Shop, Recovery, Attack | |Enemies: Botamon, Pichimon | |Boss: Diablomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Please note that "Random" in the chart means that a loft is randomly generated from the pool of possibilities. The first time I played, it was a conversation loft. The next time, it was an Attack loft. If you see Ogremon, do not talk to him. You have no items yet and should reserve HP for the Diablomon battle. Despite Diablomon's evolution level, he's not all that powerful. V-mon should be able to take him out with little problem. In fact, spam V-mon Head. When he's defeated, Millenniumon arrives to state that Diablomon was only a lure to draw Ryo into the Digital World, then chuckles evilly and tears the Digital World into two. The overall result of this is turning Taichi and Agumon into stone and leaving Ken and Ryo and separate halves of the split Digital World. Afterwards, Ken meets Wormmon and it's time for them to find their way to the Village. Wormmon will introduce himself and lead Ken to a giant tree with a hollow. This is Ken's first dungeon. For the record, the only thing you'll run into outside the dungeon are lonely little Choromon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 2, Ken side: Separate Cave (Hanare no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Max Floppy | | ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ | | -|B| | | ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Choromon, Babumon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This isn't difficult at all. At least Wormmon has decent defense, even if he is awfully slow. After this, go on to the mountain from the path that just opened up. This is a much bigger dungeon, but not very difficult. If you did get the Max Floppy, reserve it for a time when Wormmon's HP is at critical condition. And yes, I know Wormmon is a horrible attack digimon. Don't worry, Ken will get another digimon for his party soon enough. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 3, Ken side: Detached Cave (Ritou no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Max Floppy, FloppyAll; | | Item loft - HiPlugin, Courage DM piece | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Choromon, Babumon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Again, nothing really major here. Just go through it and you'll turn up in the Village of Beginnings soon enough. Now that you're in town, hop on over to Nanomon's server room. You'll be given a tokomon and the option to name it. Keep it, because you're going to need it to grow up to be a big, strong digimon. Unlike Wormmon. Then what you'll want to do is hop over to Centaurmon's place, get the Digimental of Hope rebuilt, and stick it on the Tokomon. If you have money left over, go and stock up on items at Nanimon's Shop. Once you're all set, head on over to the northeast of town, where you should be able to see two portals. This will take you to the Ocean Continent, which is populated by Nyokimon, Pyokomon, Tsunomon, Babumon, and Kapurimon. Random encounters outside of dungeons gets you very little experience, so you'll want to avoid them if you can. That said, there are three dungeons and a colosseum on this continent. Go have fun. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 4, Ken side: Ocean Cave (Umi no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Kindness DM piece | | Item loft - NeoFloppy, Friendship DM piece, PluginAll, | | Pride DM piece | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Pichimon, Nyokimon, Pyokomon, Tsunomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As should be apparent by now, every time you go through a dungeon, you get sent back to the Village. Take advantage of this to stock up, when and if you can. Also, though the Digimental of Kindness can't actually make Wormmon evolve, it's still somewhat useful against the Curse status ailment. Story-wise, the Portable Colosseum appears in the Detached Island. This is completely useless to the emulator players, but those with a Wonderswan and an old Portable from Bandai can make good use of it. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 5, Ken side: Water Cave (Mizu no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Kindness DM piece | | Item loft - DXFloppy, Love DM piece, HiPluginAll, | | Purity DM piece | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Pichimon, Nyokimon, Pyokomon, Tsunomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Again, nothing very difficult. You should be able to do quite well here with a minimal need of items. After the Water Cave is cleared, a D-3 Colosseum turns up in the Ocean Continent. It's basically similar to the Portable Colosseum, and just as useless to the emulator players. You'll want to return to Gennai's house then. When you do, he says that the evil is becoming stronger and you must go to the Black Ship. This is the final dungeon on the Ocean Continent. Remember to stock up, repair the Digimental of Light and level the Yukimibotamon you got after clearing the Water Cave. The boss can be difficult if you're caught unaware. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 6, Ken side: Black Ship (Burakku=Shippu) | |Lofts: Conversation, Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - PoisChip, HiFloppyAll, PluginAll, RecoveryFD| | Item loft - Light DM piece, Hope DM piece, NeoPlugin, | | RecoveryCD | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|C|---|X| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|------------- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Pichimon, Pyokomon, Tsunomon, Pagumon, Koromon | |Boss: Greymon Minions: Devimon, Devidramon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Keep in mind that Greymon and his buddies can hit hard, so you'll want to have a few good HP replenishing items handy. If you're careful, it's not too difficult a battle. At the end, Greymon looks woozy and says that he doesn't remember what happened. Back in town, Gennai and Piccolomon have managed to jury-rig a Reload Machine, which will allow Ryo and Ken to trade items over the rift. It's now Ryo's turn to run through dungeons. Since there are no new portals, have him run through the same dungeons Ken went through. Random encounters on the Ocean Continent for Ryo, outside of dungeons, include Mokumon, Punimon, Koromon, Yuramon, Pukamon, Pyokomon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 7, Ryo side: Ocean Cave 2 (Umi no Doukutsu 2) | |Lofts: Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Courage DM | | Item loft - Knowledge DM piece, Faith DM piece, | | Darkness DM piece | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Babumon, Mokumon, Punimon, Koromon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Pretty much the same as when Ken went through it on the other half of the world. A note for the future: you'll want to start collecting digimon early for Jogress fodder. When you clear the Ocean Cave 2, a VS Colosseum turns up at File Island, within the Big Tree. Also, go pick up a poromon from the Server Room. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 8, Ryo side: Water Cave 2 (Mizu no Doukutsu 2) | |Lofts: Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Love DM piece, Knowledge DM piece | | Item loft - Miracles DM piece, Kindness DM piece, DXFloppy| | AP Protein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Mokumon, Punimon, Koromon, Yuramon, Pukamon, Pyokomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Similar to when Ken went through this dungeon before. Nothing special. You'll get an upamon when you clear it. The path to the D-Terminal Colosseum opens up. Same as before for the Black Ship 2, but with a twist. Take a few status-recovery Chips (Poison/Curse) and make sure V-mon has the Digimental of Courage. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 9, Ryo side: Black Ship 2 (Burakku=Shippu 2) | |Lofts: Conversation, Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - Love DM piece, Knowledge DM piece | | Item loft - NeoPluginAll, AH Protein, NeoFloppyAll, | | PA Protein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|C|---|X| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|------------- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Punimon, Koromon, Yuramon, Pukamon, Pyokomon, Zurumon, | | Tanemon, Mochimon | |Boss: Greymon Minions: Ogremon, Golemon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ While you go through this dungeon, Greymon gets infected. Again. Greymon has Enigma (deletes a digimental) this time, so be careful and take him out first. Once Greymon's party is defeated, a new teleport pad opens up. This is north of the area where you find the Digimental repair shop and Items shop. Once you head back to town, stock up on more status recovery items and prep for the new area. If you have the money, go over to Clockmon's Build Shop and raise the memory capacity of the various other shops in town. What you really want later is to have the memory capacity of the Nanimon shop maxed out, preferably by the time Ken gets to the Machine Continent. For now, though, just raise it enough so that metallic chips become available. You're going to need them later on. Random encounters on the mountain continent that are outside of dungeons (heretofore referred to as "overworld") include Koromon, Pyokomon, Pagumon, Tsunomon, Kapurimon, Tanemon, Pukamon, Kunemon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 10, Ryo side: Fire Cave 2 (Honou no Doukutsu 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path (F), Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - DM pieces (Friendship/Purity/Faith/Miracles)| | Item loft - DX Plugin, PH Protein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|- -|B|---|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Babumon, Kapurimon, Tsunomon, Pichimon, Pagumon, Koromon, | | Pyokomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ There's nothing spectacular here. When you clear the dungeon, a hole in the side of the mountain opens up. Investigations reveal a stone slab on the ground, and if you go up to it, you can read what's on it. For those not geeky enough to learn Digital World runes (lucky bastards), it translates to "XVmon + Stingmon = Piledramon." Now see, chances are you probably knew that anyway. I hope you haven't used the D-3 yet, because next up comes the Jogress fodder dungeon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 11, Ryo side: Plume Cave 2 (Hifuki no Doukutsu 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path (F), Recovery(K), Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - DM pieces (Friendship/Purity/Faith/Miracles)| | Item loft - RecoveryCD, HD Protein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|F|---|B|---|K|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|B|---|I|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- -|B|------- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Tsunomon, Kapurimon, Tanemon, Pukamon, Pyokomon, Kunemon, | | ToyAgumon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Again, nothing very spectacular. You'll want to catch a few Kunemon or ToyAgumon. I suggest Kunemon, personally, because its area-attack ability is useful at this stage. It takes about 40 points on the D-3 to catch most child-level digimon. No, you can't Jogress yet, but you will soon enough. Before going to the top of the mountain, stock up on recovery items. I mean it this time. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 12, Ryo side: Death Crevasse 2 (Desu=Kurebasu 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path (F), Conversation, Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - DM pieces (Friendship/Purity/Faith/Miracles)| | Item loft - NeoFloppyAll, DX Plugin, SAProtein, SDProtein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| | |B|---|C|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|X|| | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯| | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|---|B|- -|B|---|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Kapurimon, Tanemon, ToyAgumon, Mushmon, Gotsumon, Mochimon,| | Kokuwamon, Otamamon | |Boss: MetalGreymon Minions: Snimon, Coelamon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Again, catch what child-level digimon you can, because you can't Jogress babies together. You need Jogress fodder to get anywhere in this game. Oh look, Greymon went evil again, and this time has a color change. He should see a professional about that little being-taken-over-by- evil problem. Be careful with Snimon, who has the irritating habit of stealing one of your digimon's skills. You might actually want to take him out first. When the Death Crevasse is cleared, Piccolomon says that that digimon was a trap. Then you're given the option to reload. DON'T DO IT YET! Cancel, go outside, and you'll find that the Jogress room is now open. Put your usual lot in Deramon's Cloak Room (you may want to max out memory for Deramon's too), take out what digimon you can from Nanomon's Server Room, take them over to Digitamamon's to Jogress them together, place the baby in Deramon's Cloak Room to pick up more Joress fodder and repeat as necessary until you have three little Jogress babies. Now go level them in the Ocean and Water caves, where you'll get poromon and upamon for your effort. When the babies are at child level, Jogress them again and grab a few more Jogress babies (if you have any more) from the Cloak Room. Take them back to the Ocean and Water Caves, level again, raise up some poromon and upamon, so on and so forth. At the end, you'll want to have Ankylomon and Aquilamon with 11 Jogress points each. No more, no less. Once you have them, stick them in the Reload Machine and hit the Reload button. Ken should be able to Jogress now AND use the D-3/D-Terminal. Leave the Aquilamon and Ankylomon in storage for now and run Ken through the Detached Cave and Water Cave again to pick up extra tokomon and yukimibotamon. It'll take two Jogresses to get a Chosen Child's digimon up to Adult, and you'll want Patamon and Protomon at Angemon and Tailmon before you Jogress them to Ankylomon and Aquilamon. Once they are at Adult (run through the Black Ship for the best available exp), Jogress Angemon to Ankylomon and Tailmon to Aquilamon. The resulting eggs will be Rank 4 instead of Rank 2, so they're now capable of accessing the Ultimate level. And, if you followed instruction, the Jogress child should have over 12 Jogress points, which is the minimum number of points they need to access Perfect. It's up to you now which evolution line the Jogress child will follow. Equip a digimental on the tsubumon and he'll follow the Shakkoumon to Vikemon line. Don't equip the digimental and he'll follow the HolyAngemon to Seraphimon line. Likewise with the pururumon: add a digimental and s/he'll evolve to Sylphimon to Valkyrimon, leave it out and she'll evolve to Angewomon to Holydramon. Personally I find Seraphimon and Holydramon more useful for Ken's party, so I usually leave them without the digimentals. Up to you either way, but remember that there are still an Ankylomon and Aquilamon on Ryo's side and you can always have them follow the Shakkoumon and Sylphimon path. Now that you have new, potentially powerful digimon, go through the Black Ship one more time (to bring them up to Child level) and then it's off to the mountain continent. But first, take some metallic chips. For Ken, random encounters on the mountain continent overworld includes PetitMeramon, Kapurimon, Mochimon, Pyokomon, Pagumon, Pukamon, Tanemon, Candmon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 13, Ken side: Fire Cave (Honou no Doukutsu) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Shop(S), Digimental(D), Random, Item | |Treasure: Random loft - DMpieces(Tenacity/Pride/Darkness), NeoFloppy| | Item loft - Recovery CD, DP Protein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|F|---|B|---|S|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|B|---|I|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|---|D|- -|B|------- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Yuramon, Pukumon, Pyokomon, Zurumon, Tanemon, Mochimon, | | PetitMeramon, Kapurimon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Same as before with Ryo, except this time there are very annoying digimon with the ability to paralyze some of your digimon. Metallic chips help your digimon recover from such status ailments. When this cave is cleared, that hole at the side of the mountain opens up. The stone slab you find now translates to "LadyDevimon + MarineDevimon = SkullSatamon." These are Jogress hints, if you haven't caught on already. Grab Jogress fodder, MetalGreymon has an infection problem again, beware of Snimon. The passage to the Machine Continent opens up now. A warning while we're at it: Wormmon gets a X next to his icon in the status menu when his YP reaches 15. This isn't always a bad thing, but it means he'll devolve soon. I had to take some time out to let him devolve in a non-dangerous dungeon and raise up more Jogress fodder for Ryo. Anothed note: Gennai gives you a Vdramon when you either catch or raise up 50 different digimon. With that done, it's off to the Machine Continent. Random overworld encounters include Elecmon, Ganimon, PicoDevimon, Mushmon, Shakomon, Bakumon, Gizamon, Starmon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 16, Ken side: Machine Base (Mashin no Kichi) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Item, Random, Recover, Attack (A) | |Treasure: Random loft - DM pieces (Friendship/Purity/Faith/Miracles)| | Item loft - NeoFloppyAll, RecoveryCD, DHProtein, SAProtein| |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|--|F|---|B|---|K|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|I|---|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|A|- -|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Elecmon, Gazimon, PicoDevimon, Mushmon, Shakomon, Ganimon, | | Bakumon, Gizamon, Starmon | |Major enemies (found on the last battle of the lower path): | | Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, MarineAngemon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ First, take metallic chips. Second, if you're a masochist you'll want to pick up as many gizamon here as you can. This is because, once they have enough Jogress points (14), they can evolve to Chimeramon with the assistance of a digimental. Combine a Mugendramon with the Chimeramon, get up to 216 Jogress points and 7200 exp, and you can have your very own pet Millenniumon! Throw a Diablomon in the mix and get up to 288 Jogress points and 8000 exp and you have the most powerful, highest ranking digimon in the entire game: Moon- Millenniumon. Just thought you'd like to know. Third, GRAB SOME BAKUMON AND GAZIMON. Nightmare Syndrome (or NightmareS) and Paralyze Breath are must-haves in later dungeons, so you'll want to Jogress some bakumon and gazimon to your permanent party members. Add some to the Jogress babies you're sending to Ryo once you reload, while you're at it. Otamamon's Shop opens up after this. To find what's being sold when you don't have the Gold Bits to purchase them with, see the items guide in this Walkthruogh. I'm not sure how to get the Gold Bits, but when I find out I'll certainly update this document to explain. Next up is the Gear Base. I hope you have some points on your D-3. 90 should do it. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 17, Ken side: Gear Base (Gia no Kichi) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Recovery, Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - PDProtein, MaxFloppy | | Item loft - ASProtein, MaxFloppy | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ | | |B|---|F|---|B|---|K|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|B| | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- -|B|- -|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Ganimon, Hagurumon, Yukidarumon, PicoDevimon, Clockmon, | | Veggimon, Gizamon, Numemon, Bakemon | |Major enemies (found on the secondtolast battle of the lower path): | | Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, MarineAngemon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Clockmon is, hands down, the second most annoying digimon in the entire game. He likes to reset the battle if you target him directly. Best way to deal with this is catch him if you have 90 or more points on your D-3, or use area attacks or paralysis. I usually have HolyAngemon and Angewomon nail him with Tail Hammer and Holy Arrow. Gazimon's Paralyze Breath helps too, and you can usually get it by adding gazimon to the Jogress mix on either of your party members. Other than Clockmon, though, you don't have much to worry about. Next up is the boss dungeon, so you'll want your Jogressable digimon at Perfect by now. Remember to stock up. Metallic chips are your best friends for the upcoming dungeon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 18, Ken side: ElectroBase (Erekutoro=Be-su) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Conversation, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - RecoveryCD, PSProtein | | ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| | |B|---|R|---|B|---|C|---|B|---|B|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|X|| | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯| | | ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|- -|B|---|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Gizamon, Numemon, Bakemon, Tyrannomon, RedVeggimon, | | Mushamon, Mojamon, Kiwimon, Golemon | |Major enemies (found on the first battle of the lower path): | | Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, MarineAngemon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | |Boss: BlackWargreymon Minions: Kuwagamon, Flymon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The betamon in the conversation room warns you of a strong black digimon up ahead. Good to know. Golemon can be very annoying with Curse Crimson, so you'll want to either catch him the moment you can or take him out quickly. At the battle with BlackWargreymon, watch out for his use of Heavy Metal Fire, DeathMeramon's attack. It hurts, and if your party is hit badly you might want to keep Wormmon busy with item-throwing duty. Flymon, however, is the serious danger here. His Deadly Sting CAN paralyze the entire party, giving you an instant Lose screen if it hits everyone successfully. You'll want to paralyze him before he can do it to you, or capture him/take him out quickly. When the machine continent is cleared, another slab shows up at the hole in the mountain continent. It translates to "LadyDevimon + MarineDevimon = Vandemon." Almost similar to before, but you need a digimental to get SkullSatamon. You can reload now, but I'd suggest taking some time to prepare another Angemon and Tailmon for Ryo's use. 11 Jogresses each. Also, if you are indeed a masochist, raise up that Chimeramon and shove as many Jogresses onto him as possible. When you can't take any more of this, place the Angemon, Tailmon(, and/or Chimeramon if you're a masochist) in the Reload machine along with any items you want to save money on, then hit reload. Take some time after reloading to Jogress and bring the kids up to Adult level. For the record, the machine continent overworld encounters for Ryo include Candmon, Kunemon, Bakumon, PicoDevimon, Gotsumon, Hagurumon, Penmon, DarkTyrannomon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 19, Ryo side: Machine Base 2 (Mashin no Kichi 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Item, Random, Recover, Attack (A) | |Treasure: Random loft - DXFloppy, NeoPluginAll, DXPlugin, | | DH/SH/AD Protein | | Item loft - MaxFloppy, DXFloppyAll, HP Protein, DS Protein| |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|--|F|---|B|---|K|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ ___ ___ ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|---|B|---|A|- -|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Candmon, Kunemon, Bakumon, PicoDevimon, Gotsumon, Hagurumon| | Penmon, DarkTyrannomon | |Major enemies (found on the last battle of the lower path): | | MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, MetalSeadramon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Nothing special, really. If you have the Digimental of Friendship on V-mon, Tail Hammer, or any other area attack skill, take some NeoPlugins and go have fun. Just grab some digimon along the way. Like before, the Geckmon Shop turns up. If anyone knows how to get any Gold Bits, please let me know. And, in the mountain continent, another rock slab turns up. This one says "Aquilamon + Tailmon = Silphymon or Angewomon." You probably already knew that already. On to the next stage. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 20, Ryo side: Gear Base 2 (Gia no Kichi 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Recovery, Item, Random | |Treasure: Random loft - PDProtein, MaxFloppy | | Item loft - ASProtein, MaxFloppy | |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|---|F|---|B|---|K|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|--|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- -|B|- -|B|---|I|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: PicoDevimon, Floramon, Flarizarmon, Penmon, Shellmon, | | Monochromon, Meramon, Snimon | |Major enemies (found on the secondtolast battle of the lower path): | | MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, MetalSeadramon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Yes, I know Monochromon is annoying. In the event that the monochromon does get impossible to take out, I hope you have Paralyze Breath. You might want to take a moment out to have HydroPressure added to one of your permanent party member's skill list, so take care of that and it's on to the boss dungeon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 21, Ryo side: ElectroBase 2 (Erekutoro=Be-su 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Conversation, Random, Item | |Treasure: Random loft - MaxFloppy, DXPluginAll, HPProtein, SPProtein| | Item loft: DA Protein, DS Protein | |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|--|C|---|B|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|R|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|X|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯| | | ___ ___ | | ___ ___ | | | -|B|---|I|- -|B|---|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Floramon, Meramon, Snimon, Hanumon, Kuwagamon, Nanimon, | | Dokugumon, Minotaurmon, Seadramon | |Major enemies (found on the first battle of the lower path): | | MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, MetalSeadramon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | |Boss: BlackWargreymon Minions: Evilmon, Dokugumon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Remember what I said when Ken went through this earlier? Same thing applies. Catch what digimon you want for later, watch out for Black- Wargreymon's attacks (he hits hard), bring HiMetallicChips, etc. The Dokugumon has Guilty Black and the Evilmon has Soul Chopper, so take them out first. Your best option is to spam area attack skills. With BlackWargreymon out of the way, a new portal opens up. This leads to Millenniumon's continent, the toughest of the levelling areas yet. You really do want to have a couple of Perfects for it. Oh, and a quick stop at that hole in the mountain continent reveals anothed rock slab, which says "Ankylomon + Angemon = Shakkoumon or HolyAngemon." Who would've guessed! Enemies on the overworld part of Millenniumon's continent are as follows: Soulmon, Mechanorimon, DeathMeramon, Deltamon, Phantomon, Digitamamon, ShimaUnimon, WaruMonzaemon, Ookuwamon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 22, Ryo side: Darkness Server 2 (Ankoku no Sa-ba- 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Conversation, Item | |Treasure: Item loft - RecoveryHD, DXFloppyAll, ASProtein, APProtein | |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|C|---|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|--|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|- -|B|---|C|- -|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Tyrannomon, RedVeggimon, Mushamon, Mojamon, Kiwimon, | | Golemon, Tortamon, Woodmon, MetalTyrannomon | |Major enemies (found on the last battle of the lower path): | | Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, MarineAngemon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ I like how the dungeons here have all these sinister names, yet they're all on this floating continent in the clouds. You should already be carrying a nice batch of HiMetallicChips, so feel free to use them when Golemon breaks out the Curse Crimson. As this is the easiest dungeon in the area, you shouldn't have too much trouble. However, just because it's the easiest dungeon in the area doesn't mean you get to slack off. MetalTyrannomon hits hard and can easily take out V-mon. Best place for V-mon now that you (should) have two Perfects is in the back row. If you listened to me and invested in HydroPressure, it will reduce the amount of damage the hard-hitters do a lot more and reduce the amount of HP you need to recover. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 23, Ryo side: Despair Server 2 (Zetsubou no Sa-ba- 2) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Conversation, Item | |Treasure: Item loft - NeoFloppyAll, DXFloppyAll, PSProtein,HPProtein| |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|C|---|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|--|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|- -|B|---|C|- -|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Soulmon, Mechanorimon, DeathMeramon, Deltamon, Phantomon, | | Digitamamon, ShimaUnimon, WaruMonzaemon, Ookuwamon | |Major enemies (found on the last battle of the lower path): | | Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, MarineAngemon, | | Jijimon, Boltmon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Take some recovery items for this bit. Overall, if you have a couple of Perfect digimon and a bunch of recovery items, you should be fine. Feel free to catch something for Jogress fodder and level up some to Ultimate if you can. Those who have played Anode Tamer before will nod in complete understanding. JUST when you think you're doing well in battle, he pulls the rug from under you and resets the battle with Time Unlimited. He enjoys doing this so much, in fact, that he'll do it several times before finally getting bored and letting you win. A disabling skill like Nightmare Syndrome MAY help stop him from resetting time again, but sometimes it will just take out the Attack skill and leave him with only the option to reset time. Your best bet is to paralyze him. You'll want a full battery for this battle. After the battle, Millenniumon chuckles and says that he cannot be defeated by just one power, that Ryo alone cannot unravel the key to his power, and chuckles again before disappearing. One wonders whether he enjoys playing with Ryo a bit too much. In town, a mysterious doorway appears. Back at Piccolomon's, he says Millenniumon still has a few traps on Ken's side, so it's time to reload once you have everything ready. If you have good Jogress fodder you think will help Ken, SEND IT. While Millenniumon seems to enjoy horsing around with Ryo, he has a thing against Ken. On Ken's side, the overworld digimon on Millenniumon's contient are: Seadramon, Cyclomon, Monzaemon, Devidramon, DeathMeramon, Knightmon, Wizarmon, ExTyrannomon, Mammon. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 26, Ken side: Darkness Server (Ankoku no Sa-ba-) | |Lofts: Forked Path, Conversation, Item | |Treasure: Item loft - DXPlugin, DXPluginAll, ADProtein, PDProtein | |___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___| ||B|---|F|---|B|---|B|---|F|---|B|---|C|---|B|---|I|---|B|---|I|--|B|| |¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯| | | ___ | | ___ ___ | | ___ | | | -|B|- -|B|---|C|- -|B|- | | ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ ¯¯¯ | |Enemies: Hanumon, Kuwagamon, Nanimon, Dokugumon, Minotaurmon, | | Seadramon, Devimon, Ebidramon, Andromon | |Major enemies (found on the last battle of the lower path): | | MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, MetalSeadramon, | | Boltmon, Jijimon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Dokugumon does get a bit annoying with her mass poison attack, so you'll want to take along some HiMetallicChips. Re: You better have a couple of Ultimates. Millenniumon insults Ken, radically different from his fairly good-natured encounter with Ryo, and takes off after the end of the battle. You need to go through this dungeon as Ken at least nine or more times, and ALWAYS go through the lower path. Why? Do you remember that door in the village that you can't get through? The pieces of the Digimental of Desire are the keys to this door, and you need a certain number of them to get through. Yes, I mean it: the keys to the door to Millenniumon's world are the pieces of the Digimental of Desire and THIS dungeon is the only place you can find them. You'll want to take some time to catch a few digimon during this for jogress fodder. And, since you'll be going through the lower path for them, feel free to grab a Mugendramon for Jogress fodder, if you decided to be a masochist and try to raise up a pet mille. After going through this once as Ken, being able to switch between Ken and Ryo is no longer dictated by The Plot, so you may want to take some time to do some digimon shuffling and raising. If you try to go through the door to Millenniumon's world as Ryo but don't have as many pieces of the Digimental of Desire as is required, Piccolomon comes by to interrupt each time by saying that they must be prepared before going in. By the end of this all, I had a Vikemon (76 Jogresses, Digimental of Knowledge), Megadramon (99 Jogresses, Digimental of Desire, was meant to be a Millenniumon but I didn't have the patience to try for another 117 Jogress Points needed), and V-mon (with Digimental of Friendship) for Ryo's party. Ken's party consisted of a Seraphimon (75 Jogresses, Digimental of Hope), Holydramon (94 Jogresses, Digimental of Light), and Wormmon (Digimental of Kindness). Yes, you do want to keep Wormmon and V-mon, even though they never Jogress or evolve, because they'll be the fastest digimon on the battlefield and this makes them the perfect items throwers. So, with all preparations set and the keys gathered up, it's time to go. Ryo has to feed the keys into the door, after which the screen goes black and both Ryo and Ken are absorbed into the darkness. They arrive in the world created from Millenniumon's mind, a barren and dark wasteland with a single artificial orb hovering in the sky. Walk up to it and save just before stepping on the teleport pad. There's no going back. Welcome to Millenniumon's castle. ______________________________________________________________________ |STAGE 30: Millenniumon's Castle (Mireniamon no Shiro) | |Note: Ken and Ryo have to fight battles one after the other, so this| | section of the walkthrough will be a little different. | | Battle1: Ryo vs. Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, | | MarineAngemon, Jijimon, Boltmon | | Battle2: Ken vs. MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, | | MetalSeadramon, Boltmon, Jijimon | | Battle3: Ryo vs. Nanomon, Pinocchimon, SkullMammon, Pukumon, | | MarineAngemon, Jijimon, Boltmon | | Battle4: Ken vs. MegaSeadramon, Mugendramon, MarineAngemon, | | MetalSeadramon, Boltmon, Jijimon | | BossBattle1: Ryo vs. Moon-Millenniumon, Boltmon, Giromon | | BossBattle2: Ken vs. Moon-Millenniumon, SkullMammon, Phantomon | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This is the world created from Millenniumon's mind. As such, everything that happens here happens within him. Trippy. He insults Ken first, and in the same breath turns to invite Ryo to challenge him (the word used is "idomu," which is very, er, subtexty. I'll leave you people to look it up on your own. Trust me, it'll make more sense once you play Brave Tamer and keep an eye on Millenniumon's lines.) Fight it out! Just as a warning, SkullMammon has Diablomon's C Cannon, so be careful and disable him first, if you can. You should have some sort of disabling skill by now (Nightmare Syndrome, Apocalymon's Ankoku, Diablomon's C Cannon if you went the difficult route and chose to breed one before the end of the game), so use it. Moon-Millenniumon's Death Crystal IS annoying, but less so than his Time Unlimited. Be thankful he doesn't actually have it for this last leg of the game. Once defeated, Moon-Millenniumon disappears and the scene flashes to Taichi and Agumon, who are finally able to move again. As the world merges together again, Ken and Wormmon appear and everyone is happy. But then Millenniumon turns up again and throws dark seeds at our heroes. Ken gets in the line of fire, takes one in the neck and topples over. After saying that his dark power too is eternal, Millenniumon disappears and the scene fades to Gennai's house, where Wormmon has his little monologue about Ken's increasing coldness even after he healed from the dark seed's entry. But he believes that someday they (Ken, Wormmon, and V-mon) will go on an adventure again. The credits roll and, if you decide to watch til the end instead of switching off the WS, there is a flash-forward scene where the Digimon Kaiser stands on a cliff overlooking the Dark Ocean at sunset. He says that he has returned to this world, that he is different from Millenniumon, then announces himself as the Digimon Kaiser. End game. Like all the Ryo games, you have the option to go back and dungeon trawl and pick up any items/digimon you didn't get the first time around. In place of Millenniumon's world (different from Millenniumon, eh?), is the Kaiser dungeon. You'll be able to pick up random high level digimon, copies of the Chosen Children's digimon partners, and yes, you can FINALLY jogress Wormmon and V-mon together. About bloody time. ====================================================================== =Jogress Guide & Digitama List (JGE)= ====================================================================== First thing to know about Jogress in this game: it isn't the same as Jogressing in the TV show. You can Jogress anyone to anyone else so long as they aren't in Baby mode, don't have a digimental equipped, or don't answer to the names "Wormmon" and "V-mon." Cram as many digimon together as you want, in fact. The more Jogress points an egg has, the easier it is to advance past Adult level. Some eggs even require a vast amount of Jogress points to make it to Ultimate. If you want Seraphimon, a rank 4 egg, you need a minimum of 72 Jogress points. The (SYS) category earlier in this document has a list of egg rankings. Additionally, digimentals do play a role in a digimon's evolution line. Technically, any digimon can be equipped with any digimental. Take, for example, the Seraphimon egg, which is number 20 in the list. When it is equipped with a digimental, it will follow Armadimon's evolution line and you'll end up with Vikemon in the end. Without a digimental, it will instead evolve to Seraphimon. That said, here's hoping the Jogress guide makes sense. If you decide to go the way of emulation, be warned that both Cygne and WSCamp are processor- intensive and the gameplay will be extremely lagged and erratic if played on an older computer. I have not tried Oswan yet, but I've heard that it's promising. If at all possible, I recommend getting a WSC and the actual cart. They can be taken anywhere and used at any time, there's no lag time, and chances are you'll be less likely to get carpal tunnel. ====================================================================== =Credits (CR)= ====================================================================== Thanks to... Meimi/Ereshkigal - For playing the emulator when I won't even bother with it (my computer is the bastard offspring of ENIAC and Atanasoff, and thus takes forever and a day to run any program). Also very supportive throughout my endeavors. DKFlamey - For providing questions for the FAQ, especially when I'm so bad at coming up with them myself.
