Digimon Tamers 36: Decisive Battle! Dukemon versus Beelzebumon
This episode
has very little to actually do with Ryo too. In fact, he has all
of a few seconds screen time here, like in the last episode. However,
I'll review it anyway because it is a kickass ep.
Toei felt the need to recycle the Takato/Guilmon jogress as an opening
to the episode. While Beelzebumon and Dukemon are fighting and
everyone else is watching, Juri is huddled all alone. Poor kid.
Beelzebumon summons Behemoth and we get modern-age jousting. Or
something out of a bad '80's movie. The battle rages, and damn
it looks impressive. Especially on DVD.
Meanwhile,
after talking with Zhuqiaomon, Chatsuramon confronts Lopmon about
betraying the Devas and attacks. Terriermon intercepts the attack
and Dukemon soon comes to the rescue, wiping out Chatsuramon.
Beelzebumon leaps in to download Chatsuramon's data, and fights
once again with Dukemon. You'd think they'd run out of gas by
now. Dukemon's Final Elysian finally wears out Beelzebumon, leaving
him with an opening for a killing blow. However, Juri's protest
finally grabs his attention and the attack that would impale Beelzebumon
instead slips under his arm. Very touching scene as Juri says
she doesn't want anyone else hurt and starts crying.
While Juri cries, Beelzebumon flashbacks to his time as Impmon and his
later experiences once he evolved. Those flashbacks fill up a
few minutes, and once done he walks off. Guilmon and Takato completely
forget the crying Juri as Takato gets a new D-ark and they celebrate.
And where
are Ryo and Cyberdramon? Off in the middle of nowhere walking
through the land of dry ice.
