Digimon Tamers

Digimon Tamers 38: The true enemy begins to move! The Four Holy Beasts' Fight

In the last episode, the kids had an encounter with the Holy Beast Zhuqiaomon.

The episode opens up with the Wild Bunch (the group that created digimon, which includes Jianliang's father) working on something that would help the kids return to the real world: an Ark.

The kids, by the way, are still fighting Zhuqiaomon and not really doing much damage. Before Zhuqiaomon can do much more damage, however, Qinglongmon shows up to protect the kids. They then trade blows for a bit before conversing about their approaches to the Kurumon issue (which, yes, is revealed in later episodes). Zhuqiaomon tries to attack Guilmon, but Takato gets there before the fireballs do, allowing them to jogress to Dukemon. Well, at least it's more impressive than Paildramon.

Zhuqiaomon and Dukemon then do battle for a bit before Qinglongmon intercepts.

See those two little specks in front of Xuan Wu? Those are Cyberdramon and Ryo. Xuan Wu is a bigass mofo. Oh, and there's Ryo and Cyberdramon at last. They wander onto an unsuspecting forested area, though the smell of a nearby enemy is enough to make Cydra snarl menacingly. The forested area then moves, revealing itself as the Holy Beast Xuanwumon. However, Ryo and Cydra were on the lookout for Baihumon. The ground splits open.

And yet again, back to the other kids. Juri's still majorly depressed. Qinglongmon is every bit the master of exposition that he was in 02 and reveals what happened to the Digital World, why evolution was stopped, and so on.

... I'm not commenting ... Back to Ryo and Cyberdramon. The ground collapses from under them, causing Ryo to fall until Cyberdramon catches him and flies to safety.

More exposition with Zhuqiaomon and Qinglongmon. Then, from out of nowhere, come the digignomes. That's right, there are actually creatures other than digimon in the Digital World. They bring with them a present, Shibumi. Or rather, a digital ghost-like version of Shibumi, as the real Shibumi is stuck in a hospital bed. Shibumi reveals who the real enemy is: D-Reaper, a computer program meant to delete useless data. It had however evolved outside its original programming and is now running rampant.
