Digimon Tamers 47: Rescue Dukemon! Grani's Urgent Departure
 Within
the kernel, Kurumon only now notices that his buddy's tied
up like a Japanese schoolgirl in a pit of tentacles. However,
he ends up distracted by a suddenly responsive Juri. Except
she's not really all that responsive and is instead still caught
up in her angst. She flashes back to when she was younger and
her mother died, when her father said that it was her mother's
destiny to die and the doctors and nurses go on about the inability
to escape destiny. At the end of the hallway, chibi-Juri runs
into a nightmare version of herself and multiple shadow figures
chanting "Unmei." Creepy.
Outside, the driver of a van carrying the Tamers wonders where
Ryo ran off to. The kid just doesn't rest, and he's out playing
Kamen Rider with the ADRs. Dork.
Back at the new base of the Wild Bunch/Hypnos group, a few
members of the Wild Bunch are working on a new ship, Grani. (Random
factoid: Grani is the steed that Brunhilde gave her husband Siegfried
in Richard Wagner's Das Ring Der Nibelungen opera) Shibumi borrows
Jen's D-ark to help Grani to realize and goes into the science
of it. Takato finds Juri's parents nearby and tries to talk to
them, which fails when Mr. Katou goes off on his own.
Meanwhile,
Justimon gets in a little too deep and gets knocked off his
feet by the ADR-07 "Paratice Head." Back at the base, Ruki
notices her mother trying to talk to Juri's stepmother and
takes a moment to reflect on her own behavior. To her, Juri
had always seemed to happy and never serious, even though Juri's
mother was dead. This is such a contrast from Ruki, whose only
cause for her less than pleasant behavior was attributed to
her own problems. Sure she had an absent father, whom she could
visit at any time but didn't bother, but at least he was still
alive.
 Mr.
Katou has his own plan to save Juri, which involves driving
out to the mutant goo and trying to call out for her. He flashbacks
to when he had to raise Juri himself, and then to when he was
called to pick up Juri. Since she went off on her own without
telling him, he believed she should be responsible and return
on her own. Of course, this was a mistake. The Tamers find
him along with ADR-07, a really bizarre pink monster with Juri's
voice and a few dozen mouths chanting "Unmei." It sticks a
cable out, which spits out the camera it abducted, and analyzes
Juri's father. When it pulls back, Juri's father grabs onto
it and is saved from becoming street pizza by Sakuyamon. Justimon
comes by to free the trapped Dukemon, and all three of the
humanoid digimon soon find themselves bound by creepy giant
mouths. Isn't there a doujinshi about that? Mr. Katou distracts
the ADR-07 by crashing the truck into its leg, but only succeeds
in all the mouths going after him instead. Dukemon gets tangled
up in them in the attempt to save Mr. Katou from certain death.
Justimon
and Guardromon end up defeating ADR-07, but then ADR-08 "Optimizer" turns
up. It's even bigger and uglier than 07. Perhaps in sympathy
for Dukemon's plight, Grani's rendition is sped up to completion
and Shibumi uses Jen's D-ark to slash a blue card and help
Grani realize. However, it takes a bit of extra help from Dukemon
to fully realize Grani, and Grani helps Dukemon fly where he
couldn't leap. ADR-08 is defeated, and when the Tamers and
their digimon devolve, Takato calls out to Juri and promises
that he'll save her. The others nod their support.
