Digimon Tamers 48: The Power to Protect Juri, Beelzebumon's Fist

At the base, Guilmon offers Grani some Guilmon bread, much to Shibumi's amusement. The Wild Bunch dig out some data from Grani's memory banks, revealing the Digital World in a major state of disrepair. The Tamers react with everything from fear to horror to determination. And it gets even better! The D-Reaper has shown up in America and other countries.

Over at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office building in the heart of Shinjuku, Beelzebumon wakes up to the kernel expelling him from Juri's proximity and enlarging to envelope the towers. Surveillance reveals that Beelzebumon is placed just within the outer sphere, and the Tamers decide to rescue them. Sadly, Shaochung and Lopmon are left behind.

Beelzebumon's attempt to break loose grabs Kurumon's attention, who then alerts Juri. Unfortunately, Kurumon has yet to realize that Juri doesn't consider Beelzebumon a friend like Kurumon does. So, Beelzebumon gets thrown out of the outer sphere completely and he meets up with Dukemon. They attempt to attack the sphere, but fail. ADR-02s surround them and broadcast their images to monitors and TVs everywhere. I dunno about you guys, but I wouldn't want to be on TV like that. Especially naked.

Shaochung and Lopmon decide to join the fray. Or, at least, send Lopmon off to do so. A little Blazing Ice to break the window and a Queen Device card, and Antiramon's out to play with the big kids. He saves Hirokazu and Kenta from a group of ADR-04 "Bubbles."

Back at ADR-9 "D-Reaper Ball," the giant sphere surrounding the kernel, Dukemon and Beelzebumon continue the attack. Dukemon has to contend with large grey slabs while Beelzebumon gets to deal with a giant eye dishing out his stats and repeating that he downloaded Leomon's data. Beelzebumon doesn't want to hear this anymore, so he attacks with the kickass Chaos Flare. Which does nothing to ADR-9. ADR-9 retaliates by taking out the gun Makoto gave him, which pisses him off even more.

While Dukemon still has to deal with the slabs, Yamaki informs Takato that Grani was equipped with the Yuggoth Blaster weapon. He uses it against ADR-9, resulting in its shattering and leaving the kernel open to attack. Naturally, Beelzebumon plunges in to beat against the kernel. Eventually Juri does realize that Beelzebumon really does want to save her, but then Beelzebumon uses Leomon's pose and attack, thus ruining his chances even though the attack does break through. Again immersed in angst over Leomon, Juri refuses Beelzebumon's hand until it's too late and the kernel closes again. Dukemon returns to aid Beelzebumon and apparently didn't realize that the slabs were still after him. They instead attack Beelzebumon, who starts phasing out.
